Second Higher Education

The second higher education is a specialized education that involves obtaining another specialty, a new profession, enhancing the person’s capabilities and improving professional training by deepening and updating their knowledge, skills and abilities based on the previously acquired educational degree (education and qualification level) and practical experience, and awarding a new or higher educational degree. Usually, people who already have a Bachelor's, Specialist's or Master's degree get a unique opportunity to master new fields of knowledge and change their professional activity.

The second degree can be obtained much faster than the first one, because you are enrolled immediately in the second, sometimes even the third year. The duration of studies depends on how close a new specialty is to the one you already have.

At V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, this activity is carried out by the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Part-Time (Distance) Learning established in January 2015 to implement educational programs of pre-university, higher and postgraduate education, to introduce modern learning technologies to distance learning.

Karazin University has developed up-to-date degree programs, each of which meets the demands of employers and the labor market in general, takes into account international and sectoral standards of higher education in Ukraine and is based on professional requirements for specialists. Today, you can obtain the second higher education on the basis of Specialist’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting and Auditing, International Economics, Marketing, Psychology, Valeology and receive a state standard diploma and a corresponding qualification. The duration of degree programs is 2-2.5 years. The studies include theoretical and practical training, course papers, tests and final assessment of knowledge (tests and exams). Studies end with a comprehensive state examination.
