The Publishing House
The Publishing House at Kharkiv M. O. Gorky State University was founded in November 1949. It was subordinated to the Publishing Association "Higher School" under the State Committee of the Council of Ministers of the SSR for publishing, printing and book trading. But later its operation was suspended.
This unit of the University was restored only in 2008. The Publishing House was established on the basis of the editorial and publishing department of the Scientific and Methodological Center of the University. It is also a structural unit of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (operates on the basis of the DK Certificate No. 3367 dated 13.01.2009).
The mission of the Publishing House is:
- organization of publishing at the University;
- long-term and short-term planning of editorial and publishing operations at the University;
- editorial preparation for the publication of printed materials: scientific, educational and instructional literature and documentation;
- preparation of layouts and reproduction of publications;
- information and analytical work in the field of publishing, summarizing and spreading out advanced experience.
The unit provides editorial and publishing communication, methodical and informational support for periodicals, which includes monitoring and analytics modules which support quality improvement, development, replication, distribution and promotion to international scientometric bases.

DSTU GOST 7.1:2006 "System of information, library and publishing standards. Bibliographic record. Bibliographic description. General requirements and rules of drafting". The new bibliographic description rules came into force on July 1, 2007.
