V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University in the International Academic Ranking ''Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025''
The results of the international academic ranking, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025, have been released.
Oxford has retained the top spot for the ninth consecutive year. MIT ranks second, followed by Harvard in third place. For the first time, universities from Brazil, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates have entered the top 200. In total, the ranking includes 2,092 higher education institutions from various countries worldwide. The evaluation methodology consists of 18 indicators to assess the progress of institutions across five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international cooperation.
Seventeen Ukrainian universities are included in the main part of the ranking. The leader among Ukrainian universities remains Sumy State University, ranked in the 801–1000 range globally. V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University retained its position in the 1501+ category globally and shared the second place nationally with several other institutions: Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, National Aviation University, National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute," National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute," Lviv Polytechnic National University, Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, and others. Additionally, 38 Ukrainian universities, which did not enter the main ranking, were given the status of "reporter."
