Karazin University Joined the First National Forum “Research Project Manager: from Grant to Impact”

On May 21–23, the First National Forum “Research Project Manager: from Grant to Impact” was held at Lviv Polytechnic National University. The event was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in cooperation with the university and with the support of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine. The forum brought together representatives of Ukrainian higher education institutions, research organizations, project offices, international organizations, and public authorities.

V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University was represented at the forum by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Anton Panteleimonov.

Within the forum, participants discussed modern approaches to research project management, development of research infrastructure, tools for attracting national and international funding, integration of Ukrainian science into the European Research Area, as well as the use of artificial intelligence tools in the administration of scientific activities.

The key topic of the event was the presentation of the National Researchers’ System — a new mechanism for supporting Ukrainian scientists and early-career researchers. Considerable attention was also given to the opportunities of the Horizon Europe, COST, EUREKA, and Erasmus+ programs, the development of international partnerships, research mobility, and cooperation with the Ukrainian scientific diaspora.

During the forum, the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Oksen Lisovyi, presented awards to higher education institutions and research organizations that demonstrated high achievements in science and innovation.

In particular, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University was recognized for:

  • the highest relative representation in Q1 scientific journals in 2025;
  • the largest volume of funds attracted under the Horizon Europe program in 2025.

The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Denys Kurbatov, noted that the development of science and effective administration of research projects are key factors in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capability, economy, and technological development.

The forum served as a platform for exchanging experience, presenting best practices in science management, and establishing new partnerships between universities, state institutions, and international organizations.
