The Department of Social and Educational Initiatives and Community Development is a structural unit of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
The Department’s mission is to implement the University’s social responsibility concept and integrate it into the educational process and extracurricular environment by planning and implementing social and educational initiatives aimed at the development of students, University staff, and the wider community, as well as coordinating the activities of the University’s structural units in this area.
The Department’s main areas of activity include:
- Planning, organising, and supporting social and educational initiatives within the framework of the social responsibility concept for students, University staff, and the wider community on issues related to fostering civic responsibility, patriotism, academic integrity, corporate culture, healthy lifestyles, and mental health.
- Organising and coordinating the University’s participation in social and civic projects aimed at developing the professional skills of students and learners.
- Supporting the development of student initiatives in the areas of civic engagement, volunteering, and social entrepreneurship.
- Supporting research and implementing projects aimed at addressing challenges within the University’s social responsibility framework.
- Coordinating and participating in educational, cultural, methodological, and socially beneficial activities for students in the areas of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men, gender education in Ukrainian society, and preventing violence, implemented by University units and project teams (grant project teams).
