Tetyana СherednychenkoThe Department of Social Educational Initiatives and Community Development is a structural unit of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
The purpose of the department is to implement the university’s concept of social responsibility and integrate it into both the educational process and extracurricular environment through planning and executing social and educational initiatives aimed at the development of students, university staff, and the wider public. It also coordinates the activities of the university’s structural units in this area.
Main areas of activity of the department include:

Planning, organizing, and supporting social and educational initiatives within the framework of the university’s social responsibility concept for students, university staff, and the broader public, focusing on civic responsibility, patriotism, academic integrity, corporate culture, healthy lifestyles, and mental health.

Organizing and coordinating the university’s participation in community projects aimed at developing professional skills of students and program participants.

Promoting the development of student initiatives in civic engagement, volunteering, and social entrepreneurship.

Supporting research and implementing projects aimed at addressing issues within the university’s social responsibility framework.

Coordinating and participating in educational, cultural, methodological, and socially beneficial activities for students, including ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men, gender education in Ukrainian society, and combating violence, in collaboration with university units and project teams (including grant project teams).
