Karazin University Academic Council Holds Regular Meeting

On 19 June 2026, the Academic Council of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University held its regular meeting. During the session, the Council considered and approved a number of key decisions aimed at optimizing the University's organizational structure, updating academic regulations, strengthening social support for staff, and advancing the University's research capacity.

One of the central items on the agenda was the reorganization of the University's international activities. The Academic Council approved the reorganization of the Education and Research Institute of International Education and the establishment of the Karazin University Center for International Education on its basis. The Council also adopted a revised version of the Regulations on the Office of International Relations.

As part of ongoing efforts to improve internal governance and strengthen social guarantees for University employees, the Council approved a new version of the Regulations governing the election of representatives from among full-time staff members who are not academic, research, or teaching personnel to participate in the election of the Rector.

Considerable attention was also devoted to modernizing the educational process in line with current legislative requirements. The Academic Council approved revised versions of the Regulations on the Scientific and Methodological Council and Scientific and Methodological Commissions, the Regulations on Educational Programmes, and the Regulations on Student Internships. In addition, the Council adopted a revised version of the Regulations on the Planning and Reporting Procedures for Academic and Teaching Staff of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

The Council also approved the establishment of twelve ad hoc Specialized Academic Councils authorized to review and conduct dissertation defenses for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

At the conclusion of the meeting, upon the proposal of Anton Panteleimonov, the Academic Council approved the online publication of the proceedings of the University's International Scientific and Practical Conferences.

All decisions adopted during the meeting are intended to support the sustainable development of Karazin University, strengthen its international standing, and ensure transparent and supportive conditions for study and work across the University community.
