Karazin University Joined the Discussion on Advancing Veteran Policy in Higher Education
On June 10–11, the Forum "Veterans. Universities. Society" took place at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv. Representing V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University were Daria Bortnykova, Vice-Rector for Humanitarian Policy and Student Initiatives, and Anton Vorobiov, Acting Head of the Office of Social Educational Initiatives and Community Development.
The Forum brought together representatives of higher education institutions, veterans' organizations, government authorities, local communities, businesses, and international partners to address a shared goal: developing a comprehensive policy for supporting veterans, service members transitioning to civilian life, and their families within the higher education sector. Participants discussed the role of universities in implementing Ukraine's national veteran policy, shared successful institutional practices, and developed recommendations for building effective cooperation among higher education institutions, local communities, employers, and other stakeholders.
For Karazin University, participation in such initiatives is an important part of strengthening its veteran support policy, expanding partnerships, and implementing modern approaches to the educational, social, and professional reintegration of veterans.
Karazin University extends its gratitude to the Forum organizers for facilitating a meaningful dialogue, fostering the exchange of experience, and helping shape a shared vision for the future of veteran policy in Ukrainian higher education.
