An adviser to the rector on issues of the state language has been appointed at Karazin University

In accordance with the decision of the Academic Council of the University of October 31, 2022 and the Law of Ukraine "On Ensuring the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as the State Language", the Regulations on the State Language Commissioner - Advisor to the President of Karazin Kharkiv National University were adopted. Mykola Filon, candidate of philological sciences, head of the Ukrainian language department, deputy dean of the philological faculty for scientific work, was appointed as the adviser to the rector on issues of the state language.

"Issues of compliance with language legislation in the activities of higher education institutions are under my constant control. The introduction of the position of the university language ombudsman, initiated by president Tetyana Kaganovska, is the first example in Ukraine of real protection of the rights of students to receive an education in Ukrainian. Such an initiative is important both for Kharkiv and for all cities of Ukraine. We will be happy if every university has such defenders of the language!" Taras Kremin, Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language, said.
