Journalist Day: Karazinites celebrate

6 june 2026 year

Every year on June 6, Ukraine celebrates Journalist Day. Today, amid the brutal full-scale war, this profession has gained unprecedented significance. Ukrainian media professionals document history, expose the enemy’s crimes, debunk disinformation, and risk their lives every day to ensure that the world knows the truth.

Being a journalist today means demonstrating great courage, responsibility, and an unwavering belief in the power of words. Karazin University is immensely proud to make a meaningful contribution to the education of a new generation of Ukrainian media professionals who are already shaping a high-quality information environment.

At our university, future masters of the pen, microphone, and camera are trained at two leading academic units:

  • The Educational and Research Institute of Sociology and Media Communications, where students master modern media technologies, digital journalism, and public relations, while learning to create trending multimedia content that meets the latest demands of the media industry;
  • The School of Philology, where future journalists acquire a strong foundation in the humanities, as well as an excellent command of language and style.

Our students and graduates work for leading national and regional media outlets, create independent projects, and report from the most challenging and high-risk locations.

We sincerely congratulate our students, faculty members, media professionals among our alumni, and everyone who has chosen this demanding yet vitally important profession. We wish you endless inspiration, compelling stories, exclusive reports, an unbreakable spirit, and safety in your work.
