Representatives of Karazin University Participate in the “Government and Business Dialogue” Platform
On June 23, 2026, representatives of the School of Economics of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Dean Vitalii Diachek and Mariana Shvaiko, participated in another meeting of the “Government and Business Dialogue” platform entitled “Regional Investment Dialogue”.
The event brought together representatives of government authorities, businesses, academia, and civil society around a key question: what instruments are needed to ensure Kharkiv region’s investment readiness under wartime risks, and what practical decisions should be adopted not only to attract new investments but also to support businesses that are already operating and developing in the region.
During the discussion, Chairman of the Association of Private Employers Oleksandr Chumak presented the findings of a study on institutional and political barriers to the region’s investment development. The study became an important basis for professional discussion and the development of practical solutions. The discussion involved Members of Parliament of Ukraine Yevhen Pyvovarov, Pavlo Sushko, and Viktoriia Kinzburska, Deputy Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Yevhen Ivanov, Deputy Mayor of Kharkiv Dmytro Isaiev, Head of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Kharkiv Region Vladyslav Selezen, as well as representatives of business associations, leading enterprises, universities, and the expert community.
Researchers of the School of Economics of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University presented their vision of the university’s role in strengthening the investment capacity of the region and emphasised the need to move from isolated initiatives toward the formation of a comprehensive system of regional investment readiness.
In particular, they proposed applying elements of the Quadruple Helix model to ensure effective cooperation among government authorities, businesses, universities, and civil society institutions, creating a unified ecosystem of investment and innovation that contributes to regional development.
In our view, universities can become platforms for such interaction by leveraging their institutional capacity, international partnerships, and human capital.
The next stage will involve the preparation of coordinated proposals for the Investment Development Programme of Kharkiv Region, in which the School of Economics of Karazin University will take an active part.
It is precisely through such partnerships that we can shape a new model of economic recovery, investment attractiveness, and the long-term competitiveness of the Kharkiv region.
