United Nations Day
Every year on October 24, the world observes United Nations Day. It was on this day in 1945 that the UN Charter came into force. Ukraine was among the first nations to sign this document and joined the founding group of the organization.
An important part of this global movement is the pursuit of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which set the development trajectory for our planet through 2030. V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University actively participates in this global mission by integrating sustainable development principles into its educational process, scientific research, and social initiatives. The university promotes quality education (SDG 4), expanding access to knowledge and innovation at both national and international levels. Students and researchers are engaged in projects and initiatives that contribute to sustainable economic growth (SDG 8), health care (SDG 3), and the development of cities and communities (SDG 11).
Karazin University also addresses environmental challenges. Energy efficiency and environmental awareness campaigns enhance understanding of the importance of combating climate change (SDG 13). Collaboration with local communities and international partners creates new opportunities for achieving gender equality (SDG 5) and social justice (SDG 10).
Thus, the university not only ensures the quality training of professionals but also makes a significant contribution to shaping a world where peace, stability, and equal opportunities prevail for all. By celebrating UN Day, Karazin University reaffirms its commitment to sustainable development ideals, which are vital steps toward a better future for humanity.
