Vyshyvanka Day: the University celebrates
Traditionally, on the third Thursday of May, Ukrainians from all over the world celebrate Vyshyvanka Day.
Today, we feel the unity of the Ukrainian people as never before, because vyshyvanka is not only a special element of national clothing, but also an important part of the culture of the Ukrainian people.
Throughout the ages, Ukrainians have loved vyshyvanka and have been preserving special traditions of its history. Each region of Ukraine has its own unique customs associated with national ornaments on clothing.
In the fight against the Russian invasion, wearing vyshyvanka takes on special significance as it symbolizes the indomitable Ukrainian spirit and manifests the freedom of our people. Ukrainians preserve their traditions and values and pass them on to the next generations.
On the occasion of the World Vyshyvanka Day, Karazin University invites you to join the online flash mob "Karazin University in Vyshyvankas". The terms of participation are available here.
