Radio, Television, and Communication Workers Day
Traditionally, on November 16th, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Radio, Television, and Communication Workers—a professional holiday for those who have dedicated their lives to delivering information to society through radio or television.
The date is not chosen randomly, as on November 16, 1924, the first domestic radio broadcast aired in Kharkiv. This marked the beginning of the history of radio in Ukraine.
The information sphere is one of the leading sectors in Ukraine, serving several important functions: informational, educational, communicative, and entertaining. Professionals in this field create content and fill the media space of our country, uphold freedom of speech, and make a significant contribution to the development of the journalism institute.
Karazin University is also involved in this sphere, educating specialists in journalism at the School of Philology and media professionals at the Institute of Media Communications at the School of Sociology.
During their studies, students in these specialties undergo internships at Kharkiv television channels and information agencies, as well as at the media studio of Karazin University. This allows them to gain practical experience in the media industry.
Congratulations on the holiday! We wish you inspiration and lots of energy for professional accomplishments and significant achievements!
