Day of Dignity and Freedom
Every year on November 21, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Dignity and Freedom, symbolizing the affirmation of ideals of freedom and democracy.
The holiday is established in honor of the beginning of two significant events in the recent history of our country: the Orange Revolution of 2004 and the Revolution of Dignity in 2013. It symbolizes the strong spirit of Ukrainian people and their readiness to fight for their freedom.
With the Revolution of Dignity ten years ago, people rose not only against something or someone but, above all, to defend their homes, native land, and future.
Today, we honor the memory of the fallen Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, paying tribute to the patriotism and courage of citizens who fight for democratic values, human rights, and the national interests of our country.
Initiated by the Museum of Maidan and the Institute of National Memory, this year the theme "Charged with Dignity and Thirst for Freedom" unites us on this day.
Each of us is part of a grand history, where we continue to fight and demonstrate that we are ready to defend our freedom and independence in the war against ruthless invaders... Histories where will and dignity will surely prevail!
We believe in our defenders! Eternal glory to those who gave their lives for a free, democratic, and independent Ukraine.
