Killed Defending Ukraine: Karazin Law School Graduate Vitalii Avramenko — The Karazin Community Mourns the Loss
It is with profound sorrow that we announce an irreparable loss to the Karazin University community.
Vitalii Avramenko, a graduate of the School of Law at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, was killed while carrying out a combat mission to defend Ukraine.
On June 6, 2026, near the settlement of Toretske in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region, Vitalii sustained fatal injuries after detonating an enemy mine. He was serving under contract as a rifleman-medic with the 1st Special Purpose Battalion.
Until his final breath, Vitalii Avramenko remained faithful to his military oath, courageously fulfilling his duty to the state and the Ukrainian people by defending Ukraine's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Karazin University extends its deepest condolences to Vitalii's family, loved ones, friends, and fellow service members. We share the pain of this tremendous loss and bow our heads in mourning.
The memory of Vitalii Avramenko — a Karazin University graduate, a soldier, and a defender of Ukraine—will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and will remember him.
Eternal memory and glory to the Hero.
