The 8th International Scientific and Practical Web Forum “Building a Unified Open Information Space for Lifelong Learning”
From March 24 to 26, 2026, the 8th International Scientific and Practical Web Forum “Building a Unified Open Information Space for Lifelong Learning” was held online at the Educational and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy.”
The co-organizers of the forum included: the V. O. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine (Kyiv), the Department of Science and Education of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration (Kharkiv), the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv), the Association for the Development of Professional and Continuing Education (Kharkiv), the State Scientific Institution “Institute of Education Content Modernization” (Kyiv), the Ivan Ziaziun Institute of Pedagogical and Adult Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv), the Institute of Vocational Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv), the Educational and Methodological Center for Vocational Education in Donetsk Region (Kramatorsk), the Scientific and Methodological Center for Vocational Education in Kharkiv Region (Kharkiv), the Ukrainian National Section of the International Society for Engineering Pedagogy (IGIP) (Kharkiv), the public organization “School of Adaptive Management of Socio-Pedagogical Systems” (Kharkiv), as well as Erasmus+ projects: “Micro-credentials Based on MOOCs for Teacher Professional Development (CRED4TEACH),” “Fostering Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Intercultural Competences for Quality Learning in Ukraine (UATalentUP),” and “Implementation of the European Approach to Compliance Management in Ukrainian Higher Education (EUComplianceM4UA).”
This year’s international partners included the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre (Portugal), Pomeranian University in Słupsk (Poland), Istanbul University (Turkey), Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia), Trakia University (Bulgaria), Özyeğin University (Turkey), and “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad (Romania).
Welcome remarks on behalf of the Educational and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” were delivered by Director, Professor Denys Kovalenko; Senior Researcher and Head of the Department of Scientific Information and Analytical Support of Education at the V. O. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine, Doctoral Candidate at the National Aviation University (Kyiv), Maryna Rostoka; and Professor, Deputy Director of the Institute, Oleksandr Kupriianov.
Key speakers included Professor, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Deputy Director of the Institute Maryna Vasylieva; Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre and the Centre for Comparative Studies of the University of Lisbon, Luís Miguel Cardoso; Professor and CEO of IBK Ingenieurbuero Koeberlein GmbH & Co. KG, Jürgen Koeberlein-Kerler; Professor of the Department of Digital Educational Technologies at Lutsk National Technical University, Olha Hulai; Senior Researcher of the Department of Scientific Information and Analytical Support of Education at the V. O. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine, Oleksandr Humennyi; Professor of the Department of Pedagogical Excellence and Inclusive Education at Poltava Academy of Continuing Education named after M. V. Ostrohradskyi, Nadiia Bilyk; and Professor, Deputy Director of the Institute of Management at Pomeranian University in Słupsk, Volodymyr Streltsov.
The speakers presented projects implemented by the Educational and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy” in cooperation with partners from Germany, Turkey, and Ukraine.
This year, the forum covered the following research areas:
- adult education in the context of the dynamic development of the information society;
- psychological foundations of building a unified open information space for lifelong learning;
- digital technologies and artificial intelligence in modern education;
- the transdisciplinary paradigm of digital transformation in education and pedagogy: information and analytical support;
- engineering and pedagogical education;
- university education: current trends.
During the forum, 25 presentations were delivered online and more than 100 presentations were held offline.
Participants had the opportunity to explore innovative developments in the field of the educational information space presented by Ukrainian and international scholars, exchange experiences, and gain new knowledge and scientific insights.
Special attention was paid to the актуальне issue of applying artificial intelligence technologies in education and research, as well as to the safe use of platforms and techniques.
The forum concluded with a summary of results and the announcement of decisions regarding future directions and tasks for joint activities of all participating educational and research institutions from Ukraine and abroad. Recommendations, proposals, and guidelines were also developed concerning technological, information and communication, methodological, socio-communicative, and organizational-international aspects of organizing and conducting web forums.
