Academic Council of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University Took Place

On 5 October, a regular meeting of the Academic Council of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University was held. The meeting addressed a number of important issues concerning the University’s research, educational, and publishing activities.

The meeting began with a minute of silence in honour of Ukraine’s fallen defenders.

The Academic Council reviewed and approved the results of the University’s department rankings for the 2025/2026 academic year.

Council members approved important documents governing the educational process and internal quality assurance systems. The regulations governing the University’s structural units were also approved.

The Academic Council approved new certificate-based educational programmes and programmes for cycles of secondary medical specialisation.

The Council also recommended candidates for the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine scholarships for young scientists. The list of nominees includes: Sofiia Denyshchenko, Olesia Zavarzina, Olha Karafoulidi, Kateryna Kravchenko, Olha Morozova, Liubov Pashchenko, Mariia Rodinko, and Volodymyr Farafonov.

As part of its research agenda, the Academic Council approved reports submitted by recipients of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine scholarships for young scientists and adopted a decision to revise the title of the doctoral dissertation of Yurii Orlo, PhD in Public Administration and Associate Professor.

The Academic Council also approved the nomination of director and screenwriter Taras Tomenko for the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine for his feature film “Slovo House: An Unfinished Novel.”

At the end of the meeting, a number of publications were approved for online publication and recommended for print.
