The Results of Student Essay Competition "Nuclear Energy and the World"

For many years, the public organization "Ukrainian Nuclear Society" (UkrYaT) and the National Nuclear Energy Generating Company "Energoatom" have been organizing the student essay competition "Nuclear Energy and the World."

In Kharkiv, the regional stage of the competition is overseen by members of UkrYaT from the National Science Center "Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology" of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Education and Scientific Institute "School of Physics and Technology" at Karazin University.

The three winners from Kharkiv were determined on November 8, while this year's final was held online on December 17–18.

Notably, the first place was awarded to Maria Pcholkina, an 11th-grade student from the municipal institution "Kharkiv Lyceum No. 173," for her work titled "A Methodology for Predicting Isotope Properties."

The third place was taken by Liubov Krutenko, a 10th-grade student from the municipal institution "Kharkiv Lyceum No. 156," for her project "Want to Become a Nuclear Physicist? Ask Me How!"

We also congratulate the third representative of Kharkiv in the finals, Volodymyr Ambartsumov, an 11th-grade student from Kharkiv Lyceum No. 3, for his presentation titled "Compact Nuclear Reactors in Ukraine's Energy System."
