On 25 June, during a regular meeting of the Scientific and Methodological Council, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Oleksandr Holovko presented the results of the ongoing enhancement of the internal quality assurance system at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

At Karazin University, the internal quality assurance system is viewed not merely as a tool for preparing educational programmes for accreditation, but as a comprehensive management mechanism aimed at their continuous improvement.

Throughout the 2025–2026 academic year, the University carried out systematic work to update its regulatory framework, making it possible to establish an integrated model for managing educational programmes throughout their entire life cycle. The model is based on three interconnected components: monitoring, internal review, and internal audit.

Particular attention has been given to strengthening the requirements for launching new educational programmes. From now on, new programmes may be introduced only after a thorough analysis of labour market needs, employers' expectations, the University's academic capacity, and a professional review conducted by the sections of the Scientific and Methodological Council.

An important element of the system is the mandatory annual monitoring of educational programmes. Its purpose is to continuously evaluate programme effectiveness, analyse learning outcomes, and take into account feedback from students, graduates, and employers regarding the quality of the educational process.

Another key component of the model is an independent internal review and audit. The sections of the Scientific and Methodological Council ensure consistent approaches to evaluating the quality of educational programmes, while the internal audit enables the timely identification of shortcomings, assessment of compliance with current standards and accreditation criteria, and the prompt implementation of the necessary improvements.

The system also provides for post-accreditation support of educational programmes. Accreditation outcomes and the recommendations of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance serve as a benchmark for the further development, improvement, and updating of programme content.

The implemented model establishes a continuous quality assurance cycle, covering every stage from the development of a new educational programme to its ongoing improvement or, where necessary, its discontinuation. This approach contributes to enhancing the quality of the educational process, ensuring its responsiveness to contemporary challenges and societal needs, and strengthening the competitiveness of Karazin University.
