Karazin University among Participants of the Seminar “Quality of Psychological Education: Challenges of the Time and Development Prospects”

On March 31, 2026, Karazin University took part in the seminar “Quality of Psychological Education: Challenges of the Time and Development Prospects,” held in Kyiv at the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management in partnership with the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance and the State Service of Education Quality of Ukraine.

The event brought together representatives of higher education institutions, the expert community, and government bodies to discuss current challenges in the training of psychology professionals.

Leading experts in the field of higher education quality assurance and the development of the psychological sector participated in the seminar, including Anastasiia Holotenko, an expert of the Coordination Center for Mental Health of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine; Ruslan Hurak, Head of the State Service of Education Quality of Ukraine; Andrii Butenko, Head of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance; and Olena Yeremenko, Deputy Head of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance.

The discussions focused on improving the quality of psychological education, ensuring its alignment with contemporary societal needs, and strengthening the role of the higher education system in meeting the demands of the mental health sector in Ukraine.

Participants emphasized the importance of aligning formal educational requirements with practical societal needs, enhancing the applied component in the training of future psychologists, and improving staffing support for educational programmes.

Particular attention was given to the results of external evaluation of educational programmes, challenges related to aligning graduate training with labour market requirements and professional standards, and the importance of genuinely involving students in higher education quality assurance processes. In addition, considerable attention was paid to designing modern educational programmes based on a competency-based approach, integrating mental health topics into curricula, and finding an effective balance between theoretical and practical components of education.

Karazin University’s participation in the seminar contributes to the further development of educational programmes in the specialty “Psychology,” the implementation of modern approaches to quality assurance in higher education, and the strengthening of the University’s position as an active participant in the national professional dialogue in the field of psychological education and mental health.
