Press Service

The Press Service is a structural subdivision of the Center for Public Relations of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. The aim of its activity is to effectively inform and acquaint the university, scientific, professional, state, other circles, and the general public about the glorious history of the University, its modernity, educational and scientific achievements.

The Service organizes its current activities in cooperation with all the University Schools and structural subdivisions in accordance with current and future plans, tasks, the University Charter, orders and instructions of the University President.

The work of the Center is guided by the following Laws of Ukraine: "On Information", "On Printed Media (Press) in Ukraine", "On Procedure for Publicising the Activities of Public Authorities and Local Self-Government Bodies in Ukraine by the Media", the Decree of the President of Ukraine “On Creation of Additional Conditions for Exercising the Constitutional Rights of Citizens to Information, Participation in State Affairs”, the Message of the President of Ukraine to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine “European Choice. Conceptual Principles of the Strategy of Economic and Social Development of Ukraine for 2002–2011”.

The Press Service promptly informs the University employees and students on the activities of the administration and structural subdivisions of the University; creates and maintains contacts with regional and national media, press services of public authorities, research institutions, NGOs; ensures the interaction of the University and its representatives with regional and national media; organizes journalists' activities at the University. Also, the priority task of the Service is to collect, systematize, and analyze the materials of the press, television, radio, Internet publications about the University for further formation and coordination of information flow about the activities of the University administration and structural subdivisions.

To promptly inform the external public about the University’s life and activities, the Service covers the events with the participation of the University President, officials and guests of the University in the media.
