On November 20, the Kharkiv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after M.V. Lysenko hosted a solemn event to mark World Science Day for Peace and Development. The academic and educational community of Kharkiv welcomed leading scientists and heads of top universities and research institutions from various regions of Ukraine.
The event was attended by representatives from the National University "Lviv Polytechnic," Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Sumy State University, the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, the National Antarctic Scientific Center, and many others. We are sincerely delighted that, despite all threats and challenges, Kharkiv remains a stronghold of science, bringing together hundreds of educators and researchers.
The event featured the participation of Ukraine’s Minister of Education and Science, Oksen Lisovyi; Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov; Mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov; and the Head of the Northeastern Scientific Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Each delivered a congratulatory speech and took part in the award ceremony. Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Denys Kurbatov also delivered a presentation on "Key Steps in the Transformation of Scientific Achievements."
Karazin University’s Awards
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine recognized Karazin University for the highest publication activity in Q1-Q2 journals, making it the only university in the Kharkiv region to receive this distinction from the Ministry!
Volodymyr Berest, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor, and Head of the Department of Molecular and Medical Biophysics at the School of Radiophysics, Biomedical Electronics, and Computer Systems, received a Certificate of Recognition from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Serhii Berdnyk, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Senior Research Fellow, and Professor at the Department of Physical and Biomedical Electronics and Complex Information Technologies, was honored with a Certificate of Recognition from the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
Ulyana Tarabara, PhD and Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Physics and Technology, was awarded a Certificate of Recognition from the Kharkiv Regional Council.
Vadym Kaidash, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Senior Research Fellow at the Research Institute of Astronomy, was honored with a Certificate of Recognition from the Kharkiv City Council.

Science Fair and Collaborative Opportunities
In addition, Minister Oksen Lisovyi called on Ukrainian researchers to engage in horizontal collaboration. As part of the event, a science fair was organized, showcasing the latest innovations from research institutions across Ukraine. Each university and institute had the opportunity to present their achievements from recent years and discuss pressing issues and developments with colleagues.
Karazin University was represented by the Institute of Physics and Technology, the School of Radiophysics, Biomedical Electronics, and Computer Systems, the Institute of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, and the School of Physics.
