V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University Joins Mental Health Awareness Month
In May, Ukraine and the rest of the world continue to observe Mental Health Awareness Month. Its purpose is to draw attention to the importance of mental well-being, reduce stigma, and remind people about available support opportunities.
V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University has joined the nationwide communication campaign “How Are You? Learn. Care. Reach Out,” implemented within the framework of the mental health programme “How Are You?” initiated by the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska.
Mental health directly affects the ability to study, work, and interact with others. Under current circumstances, it is especially important to pay attention to one’s psycho-emotional state and, when necessary, not postpone seeking help. On the occasion of the Awareness Month, the platform howareu.com has compiled informational materials, self-help advice, and contacts for support services.
At Karazin University, a psychological support system is available for students and staff. Specialists provide free individual consultations and organise thematic events aimed at supporting mental health. Psychological assistance can be requested via email at psyhelp@karazin.ua, as well as through a Telegram chat for booking consultations. More information is available here.
Caring for mental health is an important part of the educational environment. The University continues to support initiatives aimed at preserving and strengthening the mental well-being of the university community.
