Karazin Athletes Win the Futsal Competition of the “Side by Side. All-Ukrainian Student Leagues” Sports Project
On 26–27 May 2026, the third stage of the futsal competition of the sports project “Side by Side. All-Ukrainian Student Leagues” took place in Poltava. Teams from Donetsk, Luhansk, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions participated in the tournament.
The Karazin University team became the winner of the tournament and earned the right to compete in the All-Ukrainian Final in July, where the eight best teams from higher education institutions across Ukraine will take part.
The team included students of the School of Radiophysics, Biomedical Electronics and Computer Systems: Roman Hospodenko, Vitalii Tkachenko, Valerii Liubimyi, Ilya Teslenko, Oleksii Tolkach, Andrii Ostrikov, Vladyslav Povolotskyi, Ivan Stepanenko, Vladyslav Krymkovyi, and Vladyslav Sorokin, as well as Andrii Yakovenko (School of Economics), Kostiantyn Zhukov (School of Medicine), Oleksandr Sliusarev (School of History), and Artem Datsenko (Education and Research Institute of Sociology and Media Communications).
The silver medals went to the students of Poltava V. G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University, while the bronze medals were won by the team of Sumy State University.
We congratulate the athletes and their coaches — Senior Lecturer of the Department of Basic Military Training, Physical Education and Sports Yurii Petrenko and instructor-methodologist in physical culture and sports of the “Univer-Loko” football club Viktor Rodionov — on this achievement and wish them new victories!
