Swiss Deputy Urban Frye is Opening New Horizons with Karazin University
Swiss Deputy Urban Frye visited Karazin University. He, along with university representatives, discussed opportunities for collaboration with Swiss scientists and support for the university.
One of the main topics of discussion was the assistance provided by Urban Frye. In Switzerland, he organized a charity concert featuring Ukrainian writer, philanthropist, and honorary doctor of the university, Serhiy Zhadan. The concert raised funds for the restoration of the historical central scientific library of Karazin University, which was damaged during the armed aggression by Russia.
During the meeting, the rector, Tetyana Kaganovska, emphasized the importance of support and cooperation: "Back in April, we had support from the Swiss during a difficult period. We are sincerely grateful for that. Today, we are facing new challenges and collaboration with Swiss scientists can help in creating relevant and innovative projects that contribute to the development of our university and our country."
Also, they outlined scientific directions for collaboration, including demining territories, psychophysical rehabilitation of military and civilian personnel, urgent ecological issues, and training of public servants.
Urban Frye expressed a positive attitude towards the potential for scientific cooperation: "I am completely open to conversations with you. We have different schools in the fields of technology, science, finance, and humanities. I believe they can cooperate with Karazin University, offering solutions for the expansion, restoration of the damaged buildings, and improvement of its material and technical base. We are interested in fruitful cooperation with the university."
At the end of the meeting, Frye and the university delegation visited buildings that had suffered due to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. Mr. Frye plans to continue assisting Karazin University.
This meeting marks the beginning of an important partnership that could open up new possibilities for scientific exchange, innovation, and joint projects. We thank you for your support and interest in our collaborative efforts for the benefit of education and science!
