Associate Professor of the Department of Dentistry at the School of Medicine II Valerii Oleini­chuk Passes Away: Karazin Community Extends Its Condolences

On August 28, 2026, Candidate of Medical Sciences and Associate Professor of the Department of Dentistry at the School of Medicine II of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Valerii Viktorovych Oleini­chuk, passed away suddenly following an exacerbation of a chronic illness.

Valerii Viktorovych was born on September 18, 1962, in the city of Lviv. He began his educational journey by graduating from Secondary School No. 5 in Choibalsan (Mongolian People’s Republic) in 1979. Having chosen medicine as his vocation, he graduated from the M. I. Pirogov Odesa Medical Institute in 1985 with a degree in Dentistry. In 1986, after completing his internship at the Rivne Regional Department of Health Care, he qualified as a dentist.

Valerii Viktorovych devoted a significant part of his life to research and teaching at Kharkiv National Medical University, where he worked as an assistant at the Department of Dentistry for many years. In 2014, he successfully defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences at the Specialized Academic Council of Kharkiv National Medical University. His dissertation was entitled “Specific Features of the Course and Treatment of Generalized Periodontitis in Patients with Gastroduodenal Pathology Associated with Helicobacter pylori Infection”. He subsequently continued sharing his knowledge with students as an Associate Professor of the Department.

Since 2024, Valerii Viktorovych had worked as an Associate Professor of the Department of Dentistry at the School of Medicine II of Karazin University, establishing himself as a highly qualified specialist, experienced educator, and dedicated researcher. His untimely death is an irreparable loss for the entire academic community and the medical profession.
