Writing Together, United by Words: Karazin University Community Joins the Radio Dictation of National Unity
On 27 October, Ukrainian Writing and Language Day, members of the Karazin University community joined the 27th All-Ukrainian Radio Dictation of National Unity. The University community continued a tradition that brings together people of different ages and professions in Ukraine and abroad through the Ukrainian word.
This year, participants wrote the text “A Letter That Never Ends”, authored by Ukrainian writer and Russian-Ukrainian war veteran Artur Dron. For the first time in the project’s history, the dictation was read by two people: Ukrainian language and literature teacher Artur Proidakov and public figure and volunteer Dasha Astafieva.

“A Letter That Never Ends” reflects on the power of language to transcend distance and time, preserve closeness, and help us express love. Through the image of a handwritten letter, the author explores the bonds between people and the hope of reunion that we hold on to even in the most difficult times.
The radio dictation is an opportunity to test our knowledge and feel part of a community for whom the Ukrainian language is a daily choice, a source of strength, and a connection to our own culture. During Russia’s war against Ukraine, this sense of unity takes on particular significance.
We thank all members of the Karazin University community, as well as Viktoriia Merenkova, a representative of the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language, for taking part. Let us cherish the Ukrainian language in our studies, research, work, and everyday communication!
