International Scientific and Practical Conference “Ecology, Environmental Protection and Sustainable Natural Resource Management: Education – Science – Industry – 2026” (Ecology & Recovery 2026)

On April 23–24, 2026, the XXVIII International Scientific and Practical Conference «Ecology, Environmental Protection and Sustainable Natural Resource Management: Education – Science – Industry – 2026» (Ecology & Recovery 2026) was held online. 

The Education and Research Institute of Ecology, Green Energy, and Sustainable Development organized the event.

The conference brought together 185 participants, authors, and co-authors, who presented research results within more than 80 scientific presentations, keynote speeches, rapid talks, and thematic discussions.

The programme was built around key topics of contemporary environmental science and practice: ecological recovery, the impact of war on the environment, monitoring of natural components, green energy, sustainable land use, biodiversity, environmental education, climate policy, urban recovery, and international cooperation.

Special attention was given to issues directly relevant to Ukraine’s post-war recovery: assessment of soil and water contamination, environmental monitoring of urbanized areas, sustainable community development, energy resilience, the green transition, and the implementation of European approaches to environmental management.

The conference brought together representatives of higher education institutions, research organizations, civil society, business, environmental associations, lyceums, research centers, and international partner institutions.

The conference had a wide national and international geography. 

The international dimension of the conference was represented by participants and partners from Sweden, the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Estonia, and Indonesia. 

Among the participants were representatives of the Estonian University of Life Sciences (Estonia), Luleå University of Technology (Sweden), the Research Institute for Soil and Water Conservation in Prague (Czech Republic), Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (Germany), the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (Portugal), the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów (Poland), and Lodz University of Technology (Poland).

Among the Ukrainian participants were representatives of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics, Ukrainian State University of Railway
