On April 27, 2026, a regular meeting of the Academic Council of Karazin University was held. At the beginning of the meeting, members of the Academic Council observed a minute of silence in memory of those who died as a result of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant disaster.

During the session, the Academic Council adopted a number of key decisions regarding the university’s personnel policy and educational activities. In particular, it approved the awarding of the academic title of Professor to Natalia Mikhanovska and Mstyslav Kaliberda, and the academic title of Associate Professor to Illia Ilin.

Participants focused on the university’s strategic development areas:

  • Digitalization and individualization: a new procedure for forming students’ individual educational trajectories was approved.
  • Admissions campaign 2026: amendments to the Admission Rules were introduced, and licensed enrollment quotas for the next academic year were distributed.
  • Staff development: the results of faculty professional development were approved, along with the training plan for 2026–2030.

The Academic Council established 16 one-time specialized councils for the defense of PhD dissertations and approved new issues of the university’s academic journals for publication.

Within the “Miscellaneous” section, members of the Academic Council heard a report on the activities of the charitable organization Kharkiv Karazin University Foundation for 2025.
