Karazin University Participated in the Practical Conference "Implementation of the Gender Equality Strategy in Education by 2030: Moving Forward
Education is not only a source of knowledge but also a significant factor influencing the worldview of our society.
In Kyiv, a practical conference titled "Implementation of the Gender Equality Strategy in Education by 2030: Moving Forward" took place with the participation of the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska. Among the participants were representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, including Minister Oksana Lysovets, the Office of the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, the Office of the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy, with the support of UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine, and the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine.
The conference aimed to assess and strengthen progress in implementing the strategy by presenting national perspective gender-sensitive educational practices and international relevant experience, as well as through direct dialogue with the government and educational influencers.
As part of the conference, the experience of developing and implementing a gender equality strategy at Karazin University was presented, with a report on this topic delivered by the head of the Institute of Political Sociology at the School of Sociology, Dmytro Boyko. The main focus of the presentation was on educational and awareness practices implemented at our university, as well as scientific projects organized by Karazin University staff.
