Graduates of the Institute of Physics and Technology — Winners of a Quantum Machine Learning Hackathon

Our graduates continue to prove that a strong foundation in physics is an excellent basis for developing the technologies of the future.

The team consisting of Oleksandr Kitsenko, Bohdan Kushnarov, and Roman Ovsiannikov took first place at a hackathon held as part of a school organized by UCU (Ukrainian Catholic University) and Haiqu.

The team presented Q-ErrorID, a system for reconstructing the physical structure of noise in quantum devices. The winning solution not only assesses the error rate of a quantum computer but also identifies their physical origins, predicts their impact on algorithms, and suggests noise mitigation strategies.

The school’s program covered the most cutting-edge areas, including quantum neural networks, variational algorithms (QAOA), quantum circuit optimization, and work with real quantum devices. In a short period of time, our graduates went from a mathematical model to a software implementation and final presentation.
