The day of liberation of Ukraine from fascist invaders
Every year on October 28, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Liberation from the Nazi invaders. Today we honor the Ukrainians who fought and defeated Nazism during the Second World War, we thank those who with their work brought the defeat of the enemy closer and helped rebuild Ukraine from the ruins.
The de-occupation of Ukrainian lands during the Second World War ended on October 28, 1944, when the troops entered the modern western border of Ukraine.
The memorial day was established by the decree of the President of Ukraine in 2009. At the same time, historians of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance note that on October 28, Soviet troops entered the outskirts of the city of Chop, where the struggle lasted until November 25, and only then were the Nazi invaders finally expelled from Ukraine.
78 years ago, Ukrainians liberated their lands from the Nazi invaders. Today, 78 years after a tragedy that touched everyone, Russia launched a full-scale invasion and war against a sovereign country.
Our generation once again stood up for the defense of Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity. History proves that anyone who encroaches on Ukrainian land will be destroyed.
The real heroes are those who defended their home to the last and were not afraid to repulse the enemy both in the Second World War and in the current Russian-Ukrainian war. We remember everyone. Glory to the heroes of Ukraine!
