University Scientific and Methodological Council Meeting

On May 21, 2026, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University held a regular meeting of the University Scientific and Methodological Council. The issues related to the organization of the educational process, improvement of educational programs, and development of teaching and methodological support were considered.

Serhii Yeltsov delivered a report on the organization of the certification of applicants for higher education at the first (Bachelor’s) and second (Master’s) levels. Participants of the meeting discussed the specifics of conducting final certification, compliance with academic standards, and ensuring the quality of assessment of learning outcomes.

Serhii Yeltsov also presented the issue of recognizing distance courses as electronic educational resources of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Members of the Council emphasized the importance of further development of the digital educational environment and support for modern forms of learning.

Serhii Kozlov reported on the recommendation for approval by the University Academic Council of educational programs and curricula. During the meeting, the issue of updating the content of educational programs in accordance with modern higher education requirements and labor market needs was considered.

Within the agenda item on improving educational programs based on accreditation results, Dmytro Seliutin presented an action plan for the Educational and Professional Program (EPP) “Mathematics” of the first (Bachelor’s) level of higher education, and Olena Muradian presented one for the EPP “Sociology” of the third (educational-scientific) level. The discussion was aimed at improving the quality of the educational process and taking into account the recommendations of expert groups.

Volodymyr Temchenko presented the working syllabus of the academic discipline “Physical Education (Sport-Oriented Physical Education)” for the first (Bachelor’s) and second (Master’s) levels of higher education. Members of the Council supported the recommendation for its approval for use across all faculties and educational and research institutes of the University.

Special attention was given to the recommendation for publication and online placement of methodological publications, presented by Serhii Kozlov.

In the section of current issues, Viktoriia Kuznetsova presented the concepts of educational activity and educational programs “Pharmacy” and “Clinical Pharmacy” in the field of postgraduate education. Educational programs “Industrial Economics” for the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) levels of higher education were also considered, with reports presented by Yuliia Us and Svitlana Shepelenko.

As a result of the meeting, the Scientific and Methodological Council adopted relevant decisions and outlined further steps for improving the educational activities of Karazin University.
