V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University has obtained UNEVOC Centre status and has become the only university in Ukraine represented in the global UNESCO-UNEVOC network — a leading international platform in the field of technical and vocational education and training (TVET).

The Karazin University UNEVOC Centre, operating on the basis of the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies of the Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy,” was officially presented during the online inauguration and onboarding ceremony for new members of the network.

Karazin University was represented at the event by Professor Maryna Vasylieva, Deputy Director of the Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy,” Head of the UNEVOC Centre, and Roman Nesterenko, Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations of Karazin University, Coordinator of the UNEVOC Centre.

The ceremony brought together new UNEVOC Centres from different countries around the world that joined the network in 2025–2026. The Karazin University UNEVOC Centre was presented in the category “Research Institutes & University / UNEVOC Centre + UNESCO Chair/UniTwin,” highlighting its belonging to leading university and research structures engaged in the development of modern vocational education. The event aimed to introduce new members of the network, discuss strategic priorities for the development of TVET, and define directions for international cooperation, knowledge exchange, and joint initiatives.

Obtaining UNEVOC Centre status is an important international recognition of Karazin University’s expertise in the field of vocational, pedagogical, and innovative education. Participation in the network opens new opportunities for integrating the university into the global expert community, developing partnerships with leading universities, research institutions, and international organizations.

For Karazin University, this means strengthening its capacity to participate in international educational and scientific projects, initiate joint research, implement innovative educational technologies, and develop micro-qualifications and professional development programs. At the same time, the university gains an additional platform to present the Ukrainian experience at the international level, promote national educational priorities, and engage international partners in the processes of recovery and modernization of education in Ukraine.

This step is of particular importance in the context of the country’s post-war recovery, when quality vocational education, human capital development, and innovative educational solutions are key factors of economic resilience and sustainable development.

The Center for Innovative Educational Technologies of the Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy” serves as an institutional platform for the activities of the Karazin University UNEVOC Centre, ensuring the integration of the university’s scientific and educational potential, modern digital solutions, and international project expertise.

Participation in the global UNESCO-UNEVOC network strengthens the position of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University as one of the leaders in the transformation of vocational education in Ukraine and opens new horizons for international cooperation, innovation, and sustainable development.
