From Idea to Joint Project: How Master's Students from Kharkiv and Lviv Learned Digital Leadership

How can we learn to manage digital change, create social innovations, and work on collaborative solutions for the future of Ukraine? These were the key questions addressed by participants of the inter-university Summer School "Digital Leadership, Social Innovations and Resilience in the Digital Society (DigLead)," held within the framework of the international EURIDICE project, co-funded by the EU Digital Europe Programme.

This year, the Summer School brought together 22 Master's and PhD students from Karazin University and Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. Throughout the week, participants learned to work in interdisciplinary teams, analysed contemporary challenges of digital transformation, developed their own projects, and sought innovative solutions for the development of society, business, and the public sector.

The programme combined a modern academic approach with practical experience. Lectures, interactive workshops, discussions, and team project work enabled participants not only to deepen their knowledge but also to develop competencies essential for modern digital leaders, including critical thinking, change management, digital entrepreneurship, resilience to challenges, and effective inter-university cooperation.

The Summer School became another important step in the development of the EURIDICE project, which provides Ukrainian students with access to European educational practices, international academic cooperation, and modern micro-credentials in the field of digital society. The knowledge and skills acquired during the programme will serve as a foundation for the implementation of new inter-university initiatives, research projects, and innovative solutions that address the challenges of the digital era.

The EURIDICE Summer School DigLead was held from 6 to 11 July 2026 in the Lviv region and was organised by the School of Economics of Karazin University in partnership with Ivan Franko National University of Lviv within the framework of the international EURIDICE project (European Inclusive Education for Digital Society, Social Innovation and Global Citizenship), implemented with the support of the European Union's Digital Europe Programme.
