On April 16–17, a two-day in-person intensive training organized by the Education and Research Institute “Teachers' Academy” was held in Kyiv for Karazin students. The topic of the event was “Effective Communication in the Modern Professional Environment”.

The first day began with introductions and the creation of a comfortable learning environment. The Director of the Teachers' Academy Olha Vyhovska and first-year PhD student of the A1 “Educational, Pedagogical Sciences” program Yevheniia Fadieieva fostered an open and trusting atmosphere that encouraged active participation and agreement on interaction rules.

A presentation titled “Career GPS” by representatives of the educational foundation GoGlobal sparked particular interest. Valentyna Kuzmenkova, Yelyzaveta Prykhodko, and Valeriia Tymoshenko shared practical tools that help better understand one’s professional path and plan the future with greater confidence.

The sessions led by Deputy Director of the Teachers' Academy Tetiana Holovatenko, focused on trauma-informed communication and constructive feedback, became a meaningful continuation. Participants explored how words can support, build trust, and serve as a foundation in a professional environment.

The first day concluded warmly with a visit to the ballet “Evenings on a Farm near Dykanka” at the Taras Shevchenko National Opera of Ukraine.

The second day of the training was dedicated to deepening knowledge and summarizing the experience. It began with a discussion of impressions from the ballet. Together with Deputy Director of the Teachers' Academy Tetiana Datsenko, participants analyzed their emotional experiences, paying attention to the role of nonverbal communication and the power of art to convey meaning without words.

This was followed by the session “Communication as a Tool for Career Start,” delivered by guest lecturer — PR practitioner and lecturer at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University Andrii Sinko. Students explored the impact of effective communication on their first professional steps, examined practical cases, and discussed strategies for self-presentation and building professional connections.

The final session, “Simulation Games: How to Create and Engage Students,” was conducted by Vladyslav Shtehelskyi, project manager at the NUS Implementation Office under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Participants worked in teams, developed their own simulation scenarios, and tested them in practice.

The training concluded with a final reflection session and the awarding of certificates to participants. The event became a platform for gaining new knowledge, a space for exchanging experiences, developing communication skills, and shaping professional guidelines for future specialists.

Note. The event was organized by the Education and Research Institute “Teachers' Academy” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University with the support of the NGO “EdCamp Ukraine”, the International Renaissance Foundation, and IIF — International Inclusion Foundation gGmbH.
