A Lecture by Günter Wageneder at Karazin University

A lecture by Günter Wageneder, Head of the Quality Assurance Unit at Paris Lodron University Salzburg (University of Salzburg, Austria), an expert in higher education quality management, educational accreditation, and the development of internal university quality assurance systems, took place at Karazin University. The event was organized at the initiative of the Education and Research Institute “Karazin Institute of International Relations and Travel Business” in cooperation with the Department of Methodological and Accreditation Work. The lecture was titled “Quality Management System in Education at the University of Salzburg.”

During his presentation, Günter Wageneder shared the practical experience of Paris Lodron University Salzburg in building a modern internal quality assurance system in education. Particular attention was paid to monitoring academic programs, internal quality audits, assessment of learning outcomes, the role of teachers and students in improving the educational process, as well as the implementation of the European ESG standards (Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area).

The speaker also discussed mechanisms for ensuring academic integrity, the use of student survey results to improve educational programs, and the specifics of accrediting joint international educational programs. Special attention was given to the University of Salzburg’s experience in integrating the principles of the Bologna Process into its quality management system.

Günter Wageneder is a member of the National Bologna Follow-Up Group in Austria and actively contributes to the development of the European Higher Education Area, making his experience particularly valuable for Ukrainian higher education institutions.
