the Scientific and Methodological Council meeting
On April 24, 2026, a regular meeting of the Scientific and Methodological Council of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University took place, during which important issues related to the development of postgraduate education, improvement of educational programs, and teaching and methodological support were considered.
The first item on the agenda addressed the prospects for the development of postgraduate education and certificate programs, presented by Mykhailo Tatarinov. The report emphasized the expansion of opportunities for professional development of specialists, advanced training for academic staff, and the updating of certificate program content in line with modern educational needs. Mykhailo Tatarinov also presented the issue of recommending for approval by the University Academic Council the certificate program “Molecular Biology” for the professional development of university lecturers and school teachers. Council members supported the importance of developing interdisciplinary educational initiatives and training specialists in modern biological sciences.
Serhii Yeltsov reported on the recognition of distance learning courses as electronic educational resources of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Participants discussed the importance of digital educational tools for ensuring accessibility and quality of the learning process.
The issue of recommending methodological publications for printing and online publication was presented by Serhii Kozlov. Educational and methodological materials prepared by the academic staff of the university were reviewed, and relevant recommendations were approved.
Within current matters, Larysa Hryhorova-Berende presented the educational programs “Industrial Economics” at the first (Bachelor’s) and second (Master’s) levels of higher education, as well as the second (Master’s) level educational and scientific program “Economics”.
Special attention was paid to action plans for improving educational programs following accreditation results. Yuliia Prasul presented the action plan for the third (Educational and scientific) level program “Geography”, while Nadiia Maksymenko presented the plan for the third (Educational and scientific) level program “Ecology”. The discussion focused on further improving the quality of training and ensuring that the programs meet modern higher education standards.
