Care for the Smiles and Health of Karazin Community Members: a Social and Educational Initiative of the School of Medicine II

12 may 2026 year

The Department of Dentistry of the School of Medicine II of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, with the personal support of the University Rector Tetyana Kaganovska and on the initiative of the Head of the Department of Dentistry Andrii Nokonovyi, announces the launch of a special project — the provision of free dental care for Karazin University staff and their family members.

This initiative combines social support for our university community with an opportunity for future dentists to gain valuable practical experience. Through joint efforts, we have brought together the energy of young professionals and the expertise of experienced practitioners:

  • Dental care and patient appointments are provided by dental interns who already hold a higher education degree in Dentistry and have significant practical experience gained during their internship, but who aim to further refine their skills and expand their professional competencies.
  • Quality control, accuracy, and correctness of all procedures at each stage are ensured by experienced teaching practitioners, including associate professors and professors of the Department of Dentistry.
  • Assisting the interns will be second- and third-year students of specialty I1 Dentistry, who already have practical experience and a sufficient level of knowledge, and for whom this project will be a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in clinical dental practice.

Venue: Karazin Clinical Simulation Dental Center, equipped with modern facilities and located on the premises of the Communal Non-Commercial Enterprise “Regional Clinical Hospital” of the Kharkiv Regional Council, 6 Trynklера Street.

Within the framework of the initiative, the Department of Dentistry will provide the following services for Karazin University staff to maintain dental and gum health:

  • professional consultations;
  • preventive examinations;
  • preventive and certain therapeutic procedures.

This project is not only about the prevention and treatment of dental and maxillofacial diseases; it is a significant initiative aimed at fostering a culture of mutual support within the university, where education and science serve the well-being of the Karazin community.

The project will begin on June 1, 2026, and will operate on a permanent basis (except during vacation periods).

To register for an initial preventive examination and to determine a further treatment plan, please complete the registration form, after which you will be assigned an appointment time.
