Student Kateryna Niedielko Became a Participant in the International Leadership Programme Study Tours to Poland
Student Kateryna Niedielko, who is studying in the field of “Light Industry Technologies” at the Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogical Academy,” became a laureate of the international educational programme Study Tours to Poland and took part in a study visit to Poland.
The programme ran from 14 to 23 April 2026 and was aimed at developing the leadership potential of active students, introducing them to European experience in civic engagement, local self-government, academic life, and the implementation of socially important initiatives.
Study Tours to Poland is a joint initiative of the BORUSSIA Foundation, the Leaders of Change Foundation (Liderzy Przemian), and the Polish-American Freedom Foundation.
The direct organiser of the visit in Poland was the Institute of Strategic Studies (Instytut Studiów Strategicznych) in Kraków.
Over ten days, participants followed an intensive academic, cultural, and communication programme. They explored Poland’s academic environment, the activities of non-governmental organisations, principles of the free market, tools for countering disinformation, and practical approaches to environmental responsibility.
A special stage of the programme was a visit to Jagiellonian University, where participants took part in Oxford-style debates, as well as official meetings with representatives of the Kraków authorities. During a field module in Zakopane, students studied local self-government practices, and in Warsaw they visited the Sejm of the Republic of Poland and the University of Warsaw.
The cultural component of the visit included an introduction to Poland’s historical heritage, including a tour of Wawel Royal Castle, as well as participation in a cooking workshop at the Living Museum of Obwarzanek.
One of the key outcomes of the programme was the development of participants’ own community development ideas. In the final part of the visit, Kateryna Niedielko presented her project ideas within the section “My Project for My Small Homeland.”
Participation in Study Tours to Poland provided valuable European experience, helped establish international connections with students from Moldova, Poland, and Spain, and offered new tools for implementing civic initiatives in Kharkiv.
We congratulate Kateryna on her participation in this prestigious international programme and wish her success in her further academic, professional, and civic activities.
