Karazin University Honored the Memory of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes
Karazin University has commemorated the Heavenly Hundred Heroes.
In particular, Karazinites laid flowers to the stand dedicated to the memory of the Heavenly Hundred.
The event was attended by Vice-President Anton Panteleimonov, Vice-President Anatolii Babichev, the University students, faculty and staff.
“No Ukrainian city or town was spared by this tragedy, which occurred in 2014. Our compatriots from Kharkiv also died in these events. We must remember and honor the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of dignity and freedom,” Anton Panteleimonov said.
In his speech, Denys Zhuravlev, Associate Professor of the Department of History of Ukraine of the School of History, emphasized the choice that faced the Heavenly Hundred Heroes in the most turbulent period of the Revolution of Dignity (February 18-20, 2021) and it was obvious to them — to die for what they loved, what they believed in. And this was their conscious decision.
After that, those present watched the documentary “Heroes Don’t Die” with the participation of author and producer Volodymyr Chystylin. The film tells the stories of three Kharkiv residents who died during the Revolution of Dignity: Vladyslav Zubenko, Yevhen Kotliar, and Yurii Paraschuk.
Volodymyr Chystylin noted that these three people with different destinies, professions, etc. went to the capital separately on February 18, 2014, and the film is an attempt to show how their personalities developed, how they lived, what they dreamed and thought about.
