Today, the school has a significant scientific and pedagogical potential. The educational process is provided by highly qualified instructors — 16 Doctors of Sciences, Professors, and 30 Candidates of Sciences, Associate Professors working across five departments.
Students have the opportunity to participate in academic exchange programs under Erasmus+ at leading European universities, including the University of Oradea (Romania), the University of Girona (Spain), Tallinn University (Estonia), the University of Ostrava and Palacký University (Czech Republic), Akdeniz University (Turkey), and the Champollion Institute (France).
Educational and industrial internships take place in various locations such as the Carpathians, Kyiv, Lviv, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Uman, Zakarpattia, Kharkiv region, and abroad.
Theoretical and practical training is complemented by research experience that students gain through active participation in the scientific work of the departments.
School graduates are employed in geological exploration and survey institutions, research institutes, design and engineering organizations, enterprises, and companies engaged in foreign economic relations and socio-economic planning. Many also work in secondary and higher education institutions teaching geography.
Student self-governance is actively developed at the school, including the work of the Student Scientific Society (which promotes scientific activity and increases student involvement in research), the Student Council (which organizes school events and participates in university-wide activities), and the Trade Union Committee (which informs students about available discounts for recreation, cultural events, and other privileges).
In 2014, the school was renamed the School of Geology, Geography, Recreation, and Travel Business.
