The development of Ukraine on democratic and humanistic principles requires radical changes in the system of teacher education. The formation of a new educational system is taking place against the backdrop of European integration processes, the revival of society’s spiritual priorities, changes in worldview orientations, and the expansion of civic and national consciousness.
The teacher plays an important role in the development of a democratic Ukrainian state. High demands on the teacher reflect the essence of his activity as integral and socially significant in society. The modern teacher must be a conscious subject of the pedagogical process and an active agent of social and scientific progress. Therefore, the issue of increasing the effectiveness of teacher education and developing the conceptual foundations of professional-pedagogical activity is of particular importance. In light of this, the Education and Research Institute "Academy of Teaching" was established at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
The Education and Research Institute "Academy of Teaching" at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University is a modern center for the development of teacher education in Ukraine, created on the basis of one of the oldest and most prestigious classical universities in the country – Karazin University. The Academy of Teaching combines long-standing traditions with innovative approaches to learning and teaching.
The Academy of Teaching uses interdisciplinary approaches, integrating knowledge from various fields to train versatile and highly qualified teachers, enabling students to receive a comprehensive education that meets modern labor market requirements and educational standards.
