The Press Office is a communication unit of the University Media Holding Education and Production Centre of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Its activities are aimed at effectively informing and raising awareness among academic, scientific, professional, governmental, and other communities, as well as the general public, about the University’s distinguished history, present-day achievements, and accomplishments in education and research.

The Press Office carries out its activities in cooperation with all faculties and structural units of the University in accordance with current and long-term plans and objectives, the University Charter, and the orders and directives of the Rector. In its work, the Office is guided by the Laws of Ukraine “On Information,” “On Printed Mass Media (Press) in Ukraine,” “On the Procedure for Covering the Activities of State Authorities and Local Self-Government Bodies in Ukraine by Mass Media,” the Decree of the President of Ukraine “On Creating Additional Conditions for the Exercise of Citizens’ Constitutional Rights to Information and Participation in Public Administration,” as well as the provisions of the Presidential Address to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine “European Choice: Conceptual Principles of Ukraine’s Economic and Social Development Strategy for 2002–2011.”

The Press Office provides prompt information to University staff and students regarding the activities of the Rectorate and the University’s structural units. It establishes and maintains contacts with regional and national media outlets, press services of governmental bodies, research institutions, and public organizations. The Office facilitates cooperation between the University and regional and national media, coordinates media interactions involving University representatives, and organizes the work of journalists on the University campus.

Another key priority of the Press Office is the collection, systematization, and analysis of media coverage related to the University, including materials from print media, television, radio broadcasting, and online publications. This work supports the development and coordination of information flows concerning the activities of the Rectorate and the University’s structural units.

To ensure timely communication with external audiences about University life and events, the Press Office promotes media coverage of activities involving the Rector, University officials, and distinguished guests.
