Meeting of Karazin University Representatives with the University of Regensburg
A meeting took place between the faculty and students of Karazin University and the President of the University of Regensburg, Udo Hebel, with the participation of the Dean of the School of Biology and Preclinical Medicine, Ralph Witzgall, members of the Secretariat of Molecular and Cellular Anatomy, Eva Číra and Olga Meyer, Professor of the Department of Anatomy and Human Embryology, Rudolf Fushhofer, and a representative of the Department of Microbiology, Robert Reichelt.
On behalf of the representatives of Karazin University, including Rector Tetyana Kaganovska, Vice-Rector Anatoliy Babichev, Dean of the School of Medicine Tetyana Lyadova, faculty members, and medical students, the student curator Zhanna Sotnikova-Meleshkina gave a speech. She expressed sincere gratitude and great respect to the organizers from the University of Regensburg for their exceptional contribution during this difficult period for Ukraine.
The incredible social and psychological support, the willingness to provide educational, material, and time resources inspire and allow all Karazin members to cope with the severe challenges related to the war. This project has demonstrated significant support from Germany for independent Ukraine in the field of academic education.
A second-year medical student, Sofiya Petrova, on behalf of all exchange program participants, expressed gratitude for the strong support provided by the University of Regensburg during such a challenging time for the entire Ukrainian society. She noted that the opportunity to participate in hands-on classes in anatomy, physiology, histology, and microbiology at the German university is an invaluable experience that will stay with each participant throughout their lives.
Project participants expressed hope that the memorandum between the University of Regensburg and Karazin University will be not only a document on international cooperation but also a symbol of the union of the academic communities of Germany and Ukraine. The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, with students making treats by hand using national and family recipes.
