Vil Bakirov Receives the Order of Merit, Third Class
Vil Savbanovych Bakirov, Advisor to the Rector, Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Honoured Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, and Professor at the Institute of Sociology and Media Communications of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, has been awarded the Order of Merit, Third Class.
The high state distinction was conferred in recognition of his significant contributions to strengthening Ukrainian statehood, his courage and dedication demonstrated in defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, his substantial personal contribution to various spheres of public life, and his conscientious fulfilment of professional duties. This is stated in the Presidential Decree of Ukraine “On Awarding State Honours of Ukraine on the Occasion of Constitution Day of Ukraine.”
Vil Bakirov headed Karazin University for many years. Under his leadership, the University strengthened its position as one of Ukraine’s leading higher education institutions, established new faculties, expanded international cooperation, and enhanced the development of science and university education. At the same time, Vil Bakirov is a renowned Ukrainian sociologist and the author of numerous scholarly works on sociology, the methodology of science, and higher education issues, having made a significant contribution to the advancement of sociological science in Ukraine.
The Karazin community sincerely congratulates Vil Bakirov on this high state award and wishes him good health, inexhaustible energy, inspiration, new academic achievements, success in all his endeavours, and continued fruitful work for the benefit of Ukrainian science and education.
