Karazin University hosted an online lecture by Kai Arnaud, IT entrepreneur, founder of MariaDB Corporation Ab and CEO of MariaDB Foundation.

At the beginning of the lecture, Olha Peshkova, Senior Lecturer at the Mykola Lukash Department of Translation Studies of the School of Foreign Languages and Project Manager of the Grant Office of the International Relations Department, welcomed the audience. She emphasized the importance and relevance of the lecture's topic, which touches on the issue of Russian propaganda in Wikipedia texts, and noted that Mr. Arnaud is a very passionate person with a great deal of enthusiasm for his work.

Kai Arnaud told Karazin students about the "Kateryna" team project, which aims to correct distorted propaganda information about Ukrainian history in the foreign language space posted on Wikipedia.

He provided specific examples of distorted information about Ukraine in different language versions of Wikipedia: all of them were based on Russian propaganda.

The meeting participants also learned about the approaches and algorithms of the "Kateryna" project participants and the results already achieved: a cooperation agreement was signed with Karazin University, a scientific analysis of data from more than 100 of the most popular Wikipedia articles about Ukraine was made, and together with Karazin experts, inaccuracies in Ukrainian-language articles are analyzed and then corrected in other language versions.

At the end of the meeting, the participants asked the guest questions.

We thank Kai Arnaud for participating in the lecture series "A Lecture to the Victory: World Speakers in Support of Karazin University", for his concern and efforts in spreading the truth about Ukraine!
