Dignity and Freedom Day: University celebrates
The Day of Dignity and Freedom is celebrated in Ukraine every year on November 21.
The holiday is established in honor of the beginning of two significant events in the recent history of our country: the Orange Revolution of 2004 and the Revolution of Dignity in 2013. It symbolizes the strong spirit of the Ukrainian people, readiness to fight for their freedom.
The Day of Dignity and Freedom is designed to confirm the ideals of freedom and democracy, to preserve and convey to generations of Ukrainians true information about the fateful events that took place in our country. Today, we also pay due respect to the patriotism and courage of citizens who stood up to defend democratic values, human rights and freedoms, and the national interests of our country.
On this day, we commemorate the fallen Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.
This year, during the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the Day of Dignity and Freedom takes on even greater significance. Ukrainians are fighting again and continue to demonstrate that they are ready to defend their freedom and independence not only through despotic power, but also in the war against dishonest invaders.
We believe in our defenders! Eternal glory to those who gave their lives for free, democratic and independent Ukraine!
