Старт курсу «Концепція стеларатора — харківські лекції»
On June 28, the first lecture of the certificate course " Stellarator Concept - Kharkiv Lectures" was held.
At the beginning of the event, Anton Panteleimonov, Vice-Rector of Karazin University for Research and Teaching, welcomed the audience.
The introductory lecture was delivered by Professor Peter Manz of the University of Greifswald (Germany). The event was chaired by Ihor Hirka, Professor of the Department of Applied Physics and Plasma Physics of the School of Physics and Technology, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
The course was initiated by Ihor Harkusha, Head of the Department of Applied Physics and Plasma Physics, Academician of the School of Physics and Technology, NAS of Ukraine. The course consists of 11 lectures. Each lecture will be delivered by the world's leading experts in plasma physics and controlled fusion.
The 48 students include 17 students from Ukraine, as well as students and young scientists from the UK, Holland, India, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Netherlands.
The course will result in a textbook, which has been published under an agreement with Elsevier.
